Update on cheap millionaires

I looked it up on the net. The bill was close to $16,800 and the Oilers only wanted to pay $12,400! It was at the restaurant where George W Bush dined last year. The alcohol bill was for $8248 which included dozens of tequila shots and $1000 champagne! One of the players took a swig from a bottle of expensive imported brandy and they refused to pay for the whole bottle. The owner said he couldn't serve the rest of bottle to other clients after someone had a drink directly from it. The owner is donating the money the oilers paid to charity. Apparently when the bill came the oilers went ballistic and started threatening, denigrating the staff saying, "we're the Edmonton Oilers and we expect a 50% discount". A much better analogy would be; We're the Edmonton Oilers are we're losers! They lost the game too. Dave

cheap, now thats funny, the U.S. sure likes canadian OIL! but i agree that was a rediculous tab.

100 years ago when buddies and I were under age we would get our hands on a bottle of Boones Farm apple wine and pop the top and pass it all around the car drinking directly from bottle. Oh did I say me? I meant to say I've heard of people doing that.

Barkeeps and waiters hate to see canucks come in in Florida. Never tip, don't know why?

While in Halifax, Nova Scotia this past July I found out why they don't tip.
Our waitress told us that she makes $8.75 an hour which is way more than what they pay waitstaff in the states, they depend on the tips aswhere the Canucks don't have to as much.

It shows too because the service was horrible, I mean really bad as in slim to none and slim left to feed the cattle.

Oh and their excuse for everything was because of the Tall Ships festival that was in town, as if they haven't been having that festival for the past how many years?! They acted like it was a big surprise to them that it was there and it was so busy. What a joke.
