8N ford tractor

I have a 8N ford tractor that is in good running condition, looks good, 12 volt system, new battery, good tires front and rear, has Sherman overdrive transmission, paint is fair, sheet metal is about 6 on 1-10 scale

sorry, I got side tracted before I finished. My question was what do you think it is worth if I decide to sell it?

Depends on where you are and how quick you need to sell it. Around these parts, 1500 to 1800 will have it out of your garage tonite,if you don't mind waiting a while you could probably get up to 2400.

Yep, I've been following tractor prices for 35 years, and they've always been in that range. My dad bought a '48 model 8N in '52, he paid $1,800. Believe he got about the same when he sold in late '80's.

Its called a Sherman over drive transmission, but to me its high and low range with 4 forward gears amd reverse in high range or same in low range

I can remember when they were bringing $4,000.00 - $5,000.00

If it is a 51 or 52 it should have a sidemount distributor and a tachometer, which to me makes it worth a a little more. I have a 52 with step-up step down sherman and about 1480 documented hours on it. I turned down $5500.00 for it a while back, but most of them won't bring near that kind of money.

Over drive in a 8N gives 8 forward speeds while an over-under drive gives 12 speeds forward
