More money than Common Sense

Some of you may have seen this before but worth another look.

Video proof not everyone should be allowed to pull a trailer or drive something just because they can afford it without some kind of training. Takes special knowledge and some common sense.

Truck/Travel Trailer Crashes Texas State Bank- July 2, 2008
At approximately 3 PM, Tuesday, July 2, a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, pulling a new travel trailer, hit the corner of the Texas State Bank Drive-In on Tenaha Street, causing the complete awning to come to the ground. Luckily, the driver of the Dodge, Mickey XXXXXX, of Garrison and his 10 year old son were able to exit their vehicle uninjured.

Wooooooops.................Like my Great Grandma used to say," All fools ain't dead yet"...........

I think there should be a special license for RV trailers over 18 ft. and all motorhomes. If you wanted to find a group of bad drivers, this would be it. There are some really good drivers of RV's but the majority don't have a clue. Dave

ive noticed with rv's a rule of thumb is the bigger and more expensive the rv is, the less common sence its driver has, my theory is that these things are owned my retired exucitives, these 'blue hairs' have spent most of their lives telling other people what to do and have not had much experience at doing common sence type of things, only thing out on the road more dangerous that a big rv, is a nut behind the wheel of a rental truck

Somewhere not too long ago I read about a fella that bought a new motor home. As he headed down the interstate he put it in cruise control then got up from behind the wheel and went back to make a sandwich.

That was one flimsy built deal, for a travel trailer to bring it down like that I cannot believe it survived any strong wind.

Driver is obviously an _____.

I remember that, I also remember that he subsequently sued the RV dealer and manufacturer for misleading him into thinking that he did not need to "drive" his new motor home.

I saw that awning being built. It's a wonder a good wind hasn't knocked it down. The only thing it had was just posts. No crossbracing, wind brace, gussets just nothing but posts and a roof. I was always afraid of a little old lady maybe one day might tap a post with a fended and bring it down. The guy sure is lucky he and his kid are all right. He'll won't do it again I'm bet'n!

I agree Eric - I worked in road construction, and RV's and rental trucks/trailers are dangerous.

Paul

Yeah, that darn manual didn't say to stay seated when you put cruise control on. I can't believe he won and got another RV.
