I am looking at a Massy Ferguson 690 2wd tractor with cab. Any advise on the good or bad points of this model would be appreciated.

Neighbor had one. I thought it was a nice tractor. I think they were a good tractor with very few issues and any problems they had were owner neglect, or abuse. I think this is the case with all tractors though.

If it will fit your needs and is in good shape you most likely can't go wrong. Massey's three point and hydraulic system are pretty hard to beat, but can be difficult to diagnose and expensive when they fail.

Check it before you buy it, good luck.

I have a 1983 MF-690, cab, heat-air, 2WD. Very good tractor. My AC is out. Everything else works good. First step is to buy all 3 real MF Manuals: Operator Manual, Repair Manual, and Parts Manual. Second step is to change all fluids: engine, trans/diff/hydr, pwr steer, coolant. Use MF PermaTran III. Use distilled water and antifreeze at 50-50, and use anticavitation additive. Tom
