Thanks for all the good wishes for my mom. Everything went very well . The cardiologist fixed 3 valves and she feels better already. She is 82 now and hasnt walked in 4 years not very well for 10 years she has m.s. I am very proud of her , she never gives up. She just got in a nursing home in april and is doing well there because she keeps busy with all the activitys. The doctor said to her she might be able to go home friday and mom said good, because we have bingo on saturday.

Isee her everyday after work and see her on saturday and sunday. Would you believe there is a lady in the nursing home that did not see 1 of her 5 daughters at christmas? And none of them live more than 1 hr away. We get the newspaper sent to my mom and this lady asks me if she can read it when my mom is done. I said no problem. You would think 1 of her 5 daughters could call and order a paper for their mom.

Jan 5 my 87 yr old Mother fell and broke her arm. Was in hospital for a few days and in nursing home since for recovery since. This Friday they are releasing her and she is bound and determend to go back in her home. Siblings and I would like to see her go to an assisted living where she would be with other people as she loves talking and visiting. Her mind is sharp as a tack. My sisters are going to take turns staying with her full time for a weak but then need to get back to their jobs. I live about 4 miles from her and always go to play cards with her once a week in winter but have to farm in the summer so don't get down their as much. I will try to go down there at least a couple times a week for remainder of winter. I feel guilty about not going down there more often but need to keep family life and companionship going at home also. Hard to know what is right. Just do the best you can and be comforted in remembering that it seemed right at the time.

yea are family members siblings fun sometimes,wife family brothers and sisters all live within 4 blocks of each other in same town.Moved the mother into same town into one of her own rental units. any way long story short she was to have several doc visits etc and none of then will take her or visit her,my wife has to do it all time and we are 15 miles from the town and have to schedule days off to be able to make it work,which is nothing unusuall. Boy they want to know what doc says thou. i tell the wife if they want to know that they can alternate taking her next time,that hasn't happen in eight years yet. shes only 80. my parents 93 and still doing what they want on the farm. you just take it one day at time, and some things will never change even thou you sometimes wish it would

Glad it's good news! You can't sell these old gals short. My mother had a knee replaced when she was 89. She said she didn't know how many more years she had left on this earth, but she didn't want to spend them in pain like she had been.

She made it another five years.
