while ya touring round internet explorer go tools/internet options/ open it and on the bit that opens there will be a frame with Temporary internet files title in it, and two buttons, one to delete files..... hit that if you want and another for settings....click that....in there you will find a slide bar for allocation of disc space for temporary internet files...screw that back..... you don't need a lot of space for them..... .especially if the sites you visit change all the time..... ...like this one you can comfortably get away with 10MB or so your c: drive needs 500mb spare to run most applications windows standby function (in the desktop propertys menu) will not work under 250mb..... ..cause it recognises there is not enough temporary space to hold programmes in stand by..... ..therefore the computer will crash there is a handy little programme available on the net for free called TWEAK UI..... ..definilty worth looking at but if you are looking at freeing up space by optimising applications.....installing it will only use the space you found..... lol rember when running system tools like defrag,scandisk..... .make sure the standby funcions....(power save in the desktop propertys) is dissabled, turn all other programs of....and if you go control-alt-del once (twice will restart the computer)....all programs except explorer should be dissabled to do an effective scandisk and defragment best of luck pudding
