Thinking about a replacement tractor...

Don't want to afford anything new. Have a 26 HP (8n size). Could use something a little bigger. I lucked out on my little tractor when I bought it (price). Could use something a little bigger but the only thing in my price range is 55-70 HP. Too much overkill??????? I move round bails, water tanks ( 3 ton max), will use a baler and hay equipment. Just get something bigger and let my little one go (no space for 2 tractors).

In reality, the small stuff I do with the tractor, I can do with the quad.

55 to70 horse is perfect!you will have more, smoother power, more wt for the big jobs like carrying round bales, baling, plowing, etc.go find a 656,3020 or some thing similar, you wont regret it.

Why not look for a crawler /dozer? You could dig the needed ditch you say is giving ya problems with mud, not to mention a whole lot of lifting power.could even mow, bail hay clean stalls etc, with little or no effort. Move your nibby neighbors house away from their viewing you all the time and complaining about your sh-- and the machienery out front blocking the right away.lol. What do ya think? LOU

i farmed alot of years with a 36 horse Ford...moved up to a 60 horse Mahindra with a loader few years back...dont know how i ever got along without it...sure makes hard jobs easier.

50-70 horsepower sounds about perfect. Now you just have to pick from a bunch of different brands and models. I would go for an
oliver: 1650, 1655
John deere: 2520, 2510, 3020
White: 2-70

no olivers or whites available here.. Some fords that are pretty used up, couple david brown's look decent and are affordable, but no loader. I kinda like red and in this area IHC is reasonable and seem to be in better shape. Not in a big hurry cause I hate to part with my little tractor, I'll see how I handle a baler this summer and go from there.
