Just wondering - Have you got to meet and talk to someone on this board?
Knew toolz years ago but now "talk" to him and get to see him at tractor pulls during the summer. Got to meet the glennster, tritowntb and grandpajohn swapping some tractor parts.
Have "seen" billonthefarm, oldblu80 and Super99 but never got the chance to talk to them yet.

You ever meet some of these rascals?

I've spent the night in Wilson's house several times and he spent almost a week with me 2 years ago. I stop at Tom Stanley's on trips from Montana to Kansas.

i used to see in-too-deep when he was still living in Il.
his mom and dad were here(on my farm) with him once all nice people.
speaking of in-too-deep have any of you guys in Mn seen or talked to him lately i don't remember seeing a post from him on here in a long time.

I met JMS/.MN at a threshing show at Albany, MN. Unfortunately I was working at the sawmill and didn't have more time to talk.

I have had a few of the guys stop in over the years at my place. Bad thing is they never seem to stop by when it is haying season so as to help but oh well if they did then I would have to buy gloves and beer to get much of the hay moved LOL. Just kidding guys

I've met a couple. Local guys, nice folk. Bought a hay wagon from one at his retirement auction. Bet I have passed by a few without knowing it. There are several within a 30 to 40 mile radius.

Quite a few, but they no longer post on here for one reason or another and I dought anyone here would remember them. Some still post, but not near as much as they used to.

yup, so far met kruser, gene from missouri, armand tattro, old art, david kronwall (from the cinder block forum, and a couple others too (but i forget). good bunch of guys!!! gotta stop in and see old some time when i make my annual migration thru missouri each year, and the Howells too!!! now if kruser would buy a dang bus, we could do a coast to coast tour visiting all the yt people!!!

Met DCTom (from Case forum) at the St Joesph county fair (South Bend, Indiana) a couple years ago. He was pulling with his Case DC. Nice fellow.

I think there is a fellow that goes by Case1070 and I've met him, sold some parts to him.

O yeah have met several. Maybe 30 or so.

Neb Kirk, Allen in Ne, Nebraska Cowman,KEH, Stan-Florida, Tom Windsor, and about 20 others that worked on the F-20 project at RPRU in Madison last year. A lot of them reside at another forum now.

Gary

As Dave2 says below he stopped here last year.
As he says we were a little surprised, but enjoyed the visit. Been meaning to go by NOXJohn's (N Board) place for more than a year since he is only a few miles from me, just never quite seem to find time. Sure would like to see his restored N's though.

Bring's up another discussion though, I have teen daughter's and they have not let me forget that I gave out personal information to a total stranger which they like to remind me is exactly what I have told them not to do since they were kids. Not expecting that we have too many stalker/criminal/etc. types here, but statistically there are probably a few (Dave2 just has an off-beat outlook on life, presumed harmless).

Met John T this year and enjoyed talking with him. Also a couple years ago a nice guy from WI. stopped by the IH building at the Flywheelers who had some plow parts he brought down to sell, I hate to admit I can't call his name now.

Hey,
What's that sposed to mean?????

Your girl's are right..Just point out that you can whip them but they can't whip you

I was on a board once a few years ago when the google earth grids were in the wow status. Folks would tell their life's story, when they would be home or not, alone or not, what kinda goodies they had, then post their grid coordinate.

There are plenty of nuts around to take advantage though. Worst I would have done was drank one of your beers if it had been a different time of day.

Dave

Don't try to deny it (the off-beat outlook)...

I assume it comes from being exposed to all that European socialism we hear about, but could just be the beer talking.

How are the foals coming along this year? My neighbor has moved Mom's and foals onto the pasture next to ours. Fun to watch them cavort around.

Kirk

expecting 5, lost one, one on the ground, 4 weeks old and enjoying his first day on the pasture (first night out and he got a little thunderstorm), one been due for 3 weeks, amd one due next week, last one in June.

Be glad when all can go on the pasture and I can get a breal from shovelling poop.

Dave

Met Butch from WI & his wife when they flew down to MD to visit his brother whose the factory rep from the Oshkosh Truck company. Those trucks are undergoing testing at Aberdeen Proving Ground
where I retired from. His brother met a lady from APG and married her. They all came up for a visit. Butch is the herdsman for 1200 Holstein cows that are milked 3 times a day. My late dad would've liked to have seen that operation. Hal

I met one of the greatest members of this site....I and my wife stopped to see Hugh MacKay and his wife in Sept of 2009. Wonderful couple. He showed me his Super A and implements (some he made to fit). We had coffee and snacks outside on his picnic table. Took pictures, one of which I posted here when he died last October. I was very impressed by the man...very knowledgeable but didn't suffer fools very well on this site. I missed him a lot.

Oops, almost forgot meeting Oldiron29 last summer. He drove from Long Island, NY to Wisconsin for the RPRU; met him and his wife. They have old red iron fever real bad!

I would like to meet James and Nancy someday. I am only about a hundred miles south of them. Go through there town on the way to Dallas.

I've known DCTom personally since The Case Collectors' show at Madison, SD in 1989; spent a couple days with him and Marilyn in 1996.

Several,

Dave from MN is now a friend of mine from meeting through this site, met CJ in Wisconsin, Paul from MN, Gold Leaf Deere, and possibly others I'm forgetting. All great guys.

JMS/.MN met MSJ/MN at the Albany show last year, enjoyed a too short visit. Ultradog came to visit a few years ago...met a couple of lurkers over the years, for fun or business. See schriffs pretty often, me being his Pa.

Never met, but thanks to you, JMS/MN, I have a matching tire for my 686 I.H. that I really needed last summer. Perhaps we'll be able to cross paths some day. Thanks again for the help in locating that match!

I ment Leftey --from Iowa, he was a real nice guy hands down. It was very cold, snow up they yazoo, and his blonde stop watch was hinting (very politley) that he best hurry, so we didn't visit real long.

Also Iowa Dan, I have known for years, but had no idea who his YT name was. Him and his dad are real swell folks, dad has passed on, but has left the image of a role model for a human being.
If you had a problem with a tractor, often when you questioned him, he could finish my question, as he knew exactly what I was refering to.

Well, Long Prairie has a consignment auction coming up- sort of between us...headed to a Reinhardt auction or two soon as well. Ever see an Army Airborne hat, might be me.

Yes, I have actually met quite a few who post on these boards. 10 or 11 at last count. I don't want to list them because I would probably let somebody out.

Good folks, each and every one of them.

Thanks to conversations beginning on this board, I have met a few of the guys in person. Most often the meeting has taken place at an old tractor show.

I count my life as being better and more interesting from having met Colin King, Ultradog, and Fordfarmer. Each of these guys have a wide range of skills, a high level of creativity, and a strong work ethic. I find it comforting and rewarding to know such people.

Thank you to YT for making these meetings possible.

Paul in MN

Sounds good! I don't get out to Long Prairie very often, but I do attend Reinhardt sales from time to time. I'll keep my eyes open for an Army Airborne hat.

I see [b:654c4848f0]Nancy[/b:654c4848f0] every day.

Called and talked with [b:654c4848f0]gitrib[/b:654c4848f0] a couple of weeks ago after he came home from the hospital.

Have also talked with [b:654c4848f0]Old Roy[/b:654c4848f0] a couple of months ago.

Fellow by the name of [b:654c4848f0]Sam Adams[/b:654c4848f0] from Tatum, TX introduced us to the YT forum.

We've really enjoyed the YT forum, even during some tough times last year.

Forgot to mention [b:654c4848f0]ECountyDave[/b:654c4848f0] that we visited with last Summer.

He had a JD 350 sickle mower that needed some attention.

After the work was done, we talked about a lot of folks in his area that I once worked with at the roofing plant.

Should be in Dallas next week.Got to go see the leg doc. See how long I get to keep them. I will let you know when. Just look for a fat bald ole country boy in a red Ford F150.

Never have other than some emails from some folks. Bought and sold some parts advertised here but they weren't regular posters, at least in this forum.

Have met a few over the years either buying or selling.I always enjoy meeting new ones.

Vito

I got to trade TP and paper towel for a watering tote I had with Donovan - Don Wi, met his (at the time) bride to be.

Good aquaintance,
Bill

Paul

Just today I met a kid that I go to school with. turns out hes in my math class. Its a small world you never know who your gonna meet.

John, don't you remember? Remember your McCormick Hay rake, 3 McCormick plows and New Idea rake. You were at my place when you droped some of it off while on your way to pick up a baler. Leroy

I've met a few, looking forward to meeting more of you guys. Met up with ole blu, he talked me into joining Midwest Oliver Collectors. Met lots of good people there. Ole blu arranged for me to meet John Schwiebert at Mt Pleasant a couple years ago( did your deal at the HPOCA summer show work out?). I met Ill Lefty at Greenville show( Hi, Steve). Met Central Ill Baler at New Glarus, Wis. last winter. A link on here took me to the corn picker forum, and I met Kevin Larkey from Walnut, Ill. I have met a few guys from Iowa, kkiowa I think was one of them. Gonna meet valleyview770 in week or so to pick up a treasure I bought from him. I met a fella from down under named Dallas at the Gathering of the Green a week or so ago. I have just missed Kruser several times, some day we are finally gonna meet. I have met a few guys that do not post, but stop in the check out what's going on( Hi, John). There are more I'm sure, just can't remember everybody right now, sorry if I left anyone out. Chris

I've met a few here & there. A couple on my farm, other's on theirs. Most if not all have all been Oliver guys. Can't remember all of their handles, but I actually don't see some of the guys on very often anymore.

All have been great to visit with.

Donovan from Wisconsin

Skipping the R sale tomorrow, but going to Bovey 4/15- looking for a reasonable trailer to haul my TD9B...darn modern neighbors wanted blacktop roads, and I need something non-roadworthy that will move 6-7 tons from one farm to another.

Oh, yes! I had forgotten your name, although you aren"t one of the more prolific posters like Old or Kyplowboy. BTW, I made that trip in 23 hours. Slept (or tried to) at a rest stop, but the temp dropped like 30 degrees and all I had was a t-shirt and jeans.

Met Ray from out in Maryland- picked up an old Jeep I had out here. Haven't seen him post much lately though....

YT is definitely a great place for it's ability to bring people together.

Paul, the feeling is definitely mutual!

Colin, MN
