Took the wheel and tire off my VAC Case yesterday to have a boot put in. As I was taking it off, one wheel clamp jumped off as they usually do. I am in my 30 by 60 shop and have looked for hours. Had my wife and two friends look. Where the heck can a piece of cast iron go?

Don't you just hate it when that happens? I lay down tools and forget where I layed them. DAA! PS went out and looked in front of my garage door and your clamp wasn't there.

Going out in a few minutes and take one off a friends tractor I am working on. Soon as I get the garden prepared., the old one will show up in one of the spots I have already looked 5 times.
Thanks

I think my father's ghost play tricks on me sometimes.

The building that is now my shop was one of my father's last projects before he passed away. Sometimes when I'm working late at night I swear I can feel another presence in the building.

Sometimes I lose stuff and finally find it someplace where I know I would never have put it.

While students and I were working on an Electric formula (SAE Challenge competition) race car power module with an IC driven permanent magnet DC generator, a setscrew came whizzing out of the coupler and hit no one or anything we could hear.
We were cranking it at 4000, and have yet to find it. At least it is a common item. Jim

I dropped my breaker bar with an 1 1/8 chrome socket on it. Socket went rolling somewhere and it's been 2-3 years and haven't seen it yet and the doors were shut on the shop. I'm renting the place so when we move hopefully I'll find it. chris

I remember going hunting with my brother one time and stopping at a store on our way. I opened the door and my lunch fell over and I heard the metal fork hit the blacktop but when I got out it was no where to be seen. No one was parked next to us. I never did find it. Frankly it gave me the creeps. Just how something can fall onto a parking lot next to your truck and not be found is beyond me. We moved the truck, still nothing. To be honest...from that time forward I began to give some credence to stories I have heard of things vanishing and then reappearing in strange places, though in this case I never did find it.

I'm not sure just what size clamp you are looking for but I have one of those large 50 lb magnets that I move around in cases like that. I have found things that way that simply were not going to be found any other way.
