Got started on this 32 acre field that we spread manure on and the cows run on in the winter. Its a mess and needs turned under.

This is our first field work of the spring. Not much else going on around us. Still pretty wet.

It didnt work to bad. Not trying to go to deep just bury the manure and tear up where the cows have it beat down.

With only a very few minutes before being finished the rain set in. I headed home just about 8pm in a steady rain shower. Dont know when we will get back. A very few guys working. A couple running NH3. I think the last of the corn in the area is harvested finally. Looks like a wet week coming up. How goes everything with the rest of ya?

p.s. Wrigley says hey, he is napping right now.

I plowed under a hay feild last weekend, worked up the feild we're gonna seed with oats today after putting the duals on our 1855. Still gonna go over it 2 more times to make sure it's good & level before planting it.

Dad still needs to clean the oats and buy the alfalfa seed, plus we need to dig out the grain drill which is behind the corn planter in the shed, which is covered in other "stuff" that got thrown on it before the snow flew.

Great pics Bill. Looks like it's getting the job done. Interesting set-up with the duels, is that what you always run?

Thanks for the pictures - been wondering what you were up to.
Assume Wrigley was plowing the straight furrows as you took pictures!
Andy Windish or Travis B ever check in?

Nice plow- looks like a 735? A few in the field around Champaign, still some corn out. Saw a disk, field cultivator, and a few applicators. Still a lot of wet spots, though.

Finished planting my oats yesterday. Today we had a shower pass thru, got a whole 4/10's. We really needed it, first rain this spring. Very dry here, same as its been the last 6 years. This dry spring/summer pattern is getting sickening. Lots of anhydrous going on and tillage that didn't get done last fall. Wouldn't be surprised if a couple of the gotta be first guys don't plant some corn next week.

Howdy,

Still waiting for things to dry out more here in Winchester, Ohio. We did get the hay ground fertilized today but the fields were wetter than I figured they would be after 4 days of 70 degree weather. We'll take what we can get though. Sure has been nice weathe though. God bless.

Everybody running around here, NH3, field spraying, leveling ground, you name it.. Leveled ground for "09 fall dry fertilizer app. still a long way to go, way early, havn"t got the planter out yet. 35 mi. North of Peoria,IL.

I went to look at my disc yesterday. The ground was too wet to be able to try to get to it to pull it out, even with FWA. New Hampshire.

Hey jim.
Yea wrigley was along part of the time. He got restless and was screwing up my draft control settings so I kicked him out!
Travis was on the farm working yesterday. He was back at the shop with logan making other things happen.
I havent seen that darn Andy in a while. I met him on the road doing some hauling awhile back but havent talked to him. We run into each other fairly frequently but like the rest of us he stays busy.

Still WET here. Standing water in the dead furrows where I turned over a new hayfield last fall. Yesterday we pull started the Farmall 560, took the ditch mower off it, hooked up the stone rake and dressed up my sister's driveway. I'm going to let everything set for at least a week while we clean up sugaring, then if it still doesn't dry out I will work on some firewood and equipment repair.

If you are thinking that is the dual on the outside in the furrow it isnt. This 8920, like many, came from the factory with pressed steel inside and out. They appear to be exactly the same wheels. Looks weird because in order to get the right side out wide enough we had to take the dual hub off. To make it even stranger looking I didnt move the left side.

The neighbor notilled a few acres yesterday. Primarily checking the planter. Saw it was backed into the shed when we left yesterday. Apparently still making a few adjustments. Surprisingly the clay ground west of the river was OK for notill, but still might be marginal for serious tillage without making clods. Our goal was to get the fetilizer spread before the rain. Terribly windy for spreading, therefore decided to traverse twice with a half rate. Still might be some gaps, but unwilling to delay since the ground was fit. Roads are still posted until Monday, so wasn't any chance of getting it airflowed.
