Need Skid Steer Tires

Need new tires for my skid steer (size 10-16.5). What brand is everyone here buying these days? 8-ply, 10-ply?

the brand we see most here in Tenn is Titan I think it is a mix of good price and performance.
For awhile there was some cheap china tires but that is about a thing of the past now.

Depends... on how long it takes you to wear out a set of tires.
If you can wear them out fairly quick then Titan or some of the china stuff will probably last long enough to wear the tread out... but the china tires are poor tires. You pay cheap but you get cheap.
If you want a better tire that will last mabey 5 years then Galaxy/Primex/Advance makes a good tire but the casing is eventually going to rot.
If you want a long lasting tire... go with a 10 ply Firestone. That's going to cost you near twice the money but it will last... I also like to get a Bandag cap put on good casings. If you have a Firestone, Michelin or even a fairly new Advance then you can usually get one cap out of it fairly easily. Mabey more... Caps run about 130-150 bucks here and they wear longer than a new tire, so they are a good value IF you have a stable casing.

I've got a set of 4 Indus (from India) on mine. They've lasted well for 6 years and about 1100 hours. Got about half the tread left.

Yeah but 1100 hrs doing what with your skidsteer? SSLs that are on concrete all day in a dairy only get about 600hrs out of a set

I wish I could remember the brand that the guy in the tire store give me. I was going to put them on some 16.5 truck rims I adapted on a piece of equipment.

They still had awesome tread, and looked good, couldn't figure out why they were changed.. Mounted one and started puttin air in.. at 15 pounds or so I found out why they were changing them... The sidewalls were cracking horribly.. splitting right apart.

I never ended up using them. A guy stopped in and wanted them. I told him they was no good, but he still took em.

I can't say it wasn't cause they were ran "flat" that caused the damage, I just assumed it was a crappy brand. If I can recall the brand I'll relay it.

I can also say our skidsteer still has the original titan tires on it, and we have had good luck with them, but we hardly use it.. It was bought to drill postholes when my dad was building a lot of barns.

Rarely on concrete for long, usually on gravel. Mostly loading and moving round bales. The gravel tends to pick pieces out of them but doenst slick them off like concrete or pavement does.
