Cockshutt 40 Govenor Problems

Our Cockshutt 40 tractor has a 262 gleaner engine
we are having Govenor problems. When the tractor is running there is idle or wide open nothing in between. This creates a problem with throttle control. We were given advice that a cockshutt 40
govenor would bolt right up to the engine. Does any one know how this can be accomplished? We have a Cockshutt 40 3 Ball Govenor and it is not even close to the current one on the tractor.

You need to post your questions down on the Oliver-Cockshutt forum. Phil, Irv or others can help you.I have three Cockshutts, but none of them are 40s or have gleaner engines. We love our cockshutts, sorry I can't help.

The Cockshutt governor will not work unless the front engine plates are changed. The combine governors have to be setup to with the throttle holding them back rather than pushing them open with the throttle like is normal on a tractor.
