Finding out what is available

I am wondering if there is a way to find out what is available as far as service parts and kits for my old Massey Ferguson 202 Workbull.
I realize I can look up parts on Agcopartsbook but that won't tell me if they are available or not. I also know there are a lot of websites (this one included which I've bought stuff from) that sell tractor parts but most have the same variety of generic, multi tractor reproduction parts and not the specific parts I need. I hate to keep bugging dealers to look stuff up for me just to find out it's discontinued. Is there any way to check this for myself?
Is there anywhere that might have old stock of parts that are no longer made?

It's the dealers job to help you with parts. If they're discontinued isn't your fault. A lot of parts on older tractors fit several different models. Dave

What gets me also, is that so many outfits advertise as your one stop parts supplier and then have the same thing all the other suppliers have but not the parts you need. It is not a parts man fault the part is no longer available, it is the mfg and the only way they will continue to have a part made is if they can sell enough to make a profit. Dealers have to keep the pressure on mfgs to keep these parts available but that is difficult to do with all the mergers etc. Getting a company rep to even take the time to listen to a dealer is a job of itself, believe me I know from all the years I worked at dealerships.

That's exactly the problem I have, all the sites selling the same parts and not what I need. It seems many only carry the parts that are common between many different models. It's almost like you are simply going back and forth between the sites just to get the best price, all the parts are the same. The other thing that gets me is sites that will sell you a part but not have it in stock. I understand about drop shipments and I'm fine with that but if their supplier is out of stock often they won't do you the courtesy of emailing or phoning to let you know that. I had to chase down a steering shaft for my tractor for almost 2 weeks.
One question I have is if an Agco dealer provides you with a login for the parts site, does it tell you if a part is discontinued or not or do you still have to contact the dealer?
