??on machinery prices, whose got a guide??

I am looking at purchasing a new to me swather. Possibly a 3830 john deere with a 300a twin sicle head. but im not sure what avg. price for one of these is. rather avg. auction price, that is what my bank goes by. they are closed and i was wondering if any of you could help me.

3830 John Deere Self Propelled windrower.
Cab air conditioning
diesel hydrostat
16 ft. head twin sicle. with conditioner
avg rubber

May not know what i am looking for. In this part of the country they are never used so would be usless but looking in IRON SOLUTIONS a guide most dealers use I find a listing for 3430s made from about 86 to 96 but no 3830. Sorry that I can,t help. Jm

i think the 3430 is basically the same machine with less horsepower. also does anyone know anything about the 290 model header, google draws blanks.jd parts shows it to be a single sicle... are they any good?

looking a little closer at pic might be a 240 auger head.

Go to Tractor House dot com. Punch 3830 in the search box. Looks like they go from $13000 to $20000.

john deere makes alot of good equipment but there swathers were never ranked highly. just a word to the wise.
