I AM IN THE PROCESS OF INSTALLING A FRONT END LOADER ON MY JD 3010 DIESEL. JUST WONDERING WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO HOOK UP MY HYDRAULICS WITHOUT USING MY REMOTE. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!! THANKS,TERRY

first of all,you have to have a closed center control valve for your loader.on the right side of the tractor next to the brake pedals there is a line that comes out and 90s to the back.remove the 90 and put in a tee.run a line from the tee to IN on the loader valve.go to jd and get a hyd filter cover that has a fitting in it and run a line from that fitting to the return port of the loader valve...remember,closed center loader valve

done

You have to change the cup on the filter to the one with the threaded fitting for the return line, but before anybody else tells you where to hook the pressure line,I'll tell you that some of the first ones didn't have that feature where it's commonly hooked nowdays. To be honest,I don't remember where that was,but I had a real early one and we had to hook in up under the hood. I don't have the tractor anymore, but as I remember it,there was a block up under the hood that had to have a T put in in place of another fitting. I'm thinking the standard way was to put a T in somewhere down on the side, but I'm reminding others of this option on the oldest ones. Maybe somebody else can tell you exactly where it is in case yours is as old as mine was.

as rrlun says, your tractor may not have the fitting i talk about.take the platform off and then follow the line from the rockshaft housing forward until you find a 90 degree fittng replace that with a tee and hook to the IN port of the loader control valve

An alternate location for the return oil from your added valve is to tee it into the rockshaft return line. I replaced the elbow with a tee but you could very easily drill and tap the end of the elbow for 1/2 inch pipe thread.

I had used this photo to call out the plug for the transmission screen.

The black hose is my return from the loader valve. You can also return to the transmission filter cover which is the round cover with the bolt head in the center. Both methods return to the same place, the filter.
This view is under the LH battery box.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE INFORMATION. I JUST WENT AND LOOKED AND MY TRACTOR DOES HAVE THAT LINE AND I WILL GO TO THE DEERE HOUSE TOMORROW.THANK YOU ,TERRY

The block under the hood, just in front of the firewall, was the remote valve that the control lever attaches to. My 3020 came single, I added the second, got to be a bit of a job. I think the second went underneath the first.

I think the second went underneath the first. Been running the 148 from those two valves over 30 years, (despite one here who thinks that is nuts) but did add another valve from the Tee being talked about, for running another pair of remotes. Use quik-couplers in that system and connect only when needed.

Works better on a Waterloo than on a Dubuque or Mannheim. Still if the loader was properly connected direct, returned to a ported filter cover and a dedicated loader joystick used. You would wonder to yourself why you did it mickey mouse for 30 years.
