O/T Powerstroke oilpan leaking

I've got a '95 F250 w/ 7.3L powerstroke. It has somewhat above 250k on the odometer. This morning I noticed a thin coat of oil blown up on the radiator hoses. Checked the engine oil, it was a little low. Looked all over for the leak. Crawled underneath and there is oil leaking from the front of the oil pan seal. I don't think it is coming from anything above the oil pan, but I didn't look close enough right now.

Question: How difficult/complex is it to change that gasket on one of these? It looks pretty straightforward, but maybe I'm not seeing everything that is there?

Your advice is VERY appreciated, and thank you.

Christopher

Check your crankcase venting system. Those diesels will start leaking oil something awful around the pan when it stops working. The GM versions rely on vacuum produced by the mechancially driven vacuum pump. Not 100% sure about the Fords. I've got two, but never had to check.

To put a pan gasket on you must remove the engine.

Before you do that make sure the oil isn't coming from the high pressure oil pump straight above it.
