Massey Ferguson To30 Overheating

I recently was brush hogging in heavy brush with my massey fergsuon t030. It started to smoke/over heat alot. The radiator over flow tube was steaming like a steam engine. The next day i flushed the radiator and changed the radiator fluid. I went back out brush hogging and it did the same thing? Any ideas why it keeps or heating. I also replaced the thermostat. I did change the oil/filtere but I used cheap oil with this have an effect on radiator? It is the original radiator and from the outside appears to be ok/no leaks. Any ideas why this keeps overheating??

What ever you were bushhogging may have clogged the fins in the radiator. Take an air hose and blow out the grass and dirt, from the back side as much as you can then blow it outfrom the front

Water pump impeller loose, can't see without taking water pump off. I use water hose on all my radiators including a lower pressure high pressure washer.

That Z129 engine is prone to crack when overheated. Like was said, make sure there"s no chaff in the radiator. Disconnect the belt from the water pump and check it for wobble. Check the oil and make sure there"s no water in it.

Clean the crud out of the air side of the radiator, only fill the radiator to about 1/4" over the top of the core( the rest of the volume is for fluid expansion); make sure that the water pump drive belt is tight, the radiator cap is a 7 psi cap and is working properly; make sure that your timing is set correctly (6 oBTDC), and that your carb powwer jet adjustment is >/= to one full turn out from full closed. Check to make sure that you don"t have gas bubbles in the coolant. If you do, your head gasket is leaking or you have a crack in the water jacket( head or block). And finally, make sure that the lower rad hose is not collapsing at high engine speed.

The oil you are using needs to be the correct SAE grade and API classification for lubrication but will not cause overheating unless you crankcase oil level is very low.

Check your radiator to make sure it's not clogged in the tubes blocking flow or is full of dirt and debri restricting air flow. If these are ok check the pump impeller for wear or for not turning. Something may have sheared. Check your engine timing and your carburetor for running lean if its a gas engine. Hal
