How good is my 6v battery (DVM voltages) ?

I have Dad's 6v trickle charger which puts out about 4 watts. Battery is removed from the tractor.

Starting battery voltage is about 6.4 volts.

When I remove the trickle charger after a couple of hours, the battery voltage is about 6.8 to 6.9 volts. The batteries voltage slowly drops to 6.4 volts.

Is it within reasonable "spec" ?

This battery is about 3 years old and was placed in the tractor without any "remedial" or trickle charge for those three years. (My Buddy dead shorted the last one trying to be trickle charge it so I told him he didn't need to charge this one.)

Thanks.

6.3is normal or the 6volt lead acid battery, so all seems to be well. Make sure it has water in it to the rings under the cap. If it cranks well it is well. Jim

A hydrometer is a better indicator of battery condition.Batteries take on a surface charge that will fool your volt meter.
