Measuring Tire Chains

I am looking for a set of tire chains for my MF202. Found a set on Kjiji that the guy is not sure what the measurements are but he "thinks" they came from a 35. My tires are 14.9x24. How should I tell him to measure them to know if they will fit?
I have never dealt with chains before.

Sure there's a scientific way of doing it, but I'm no scientist........
I'd look at a few pics of tractors with chains on and go measure my wheels where the others ride. Should get you pretty good.

Have fun,

Dave

Very simple way to measure how much chain you need is to do this. Mark the bottom of your tire and lay a board on the ground at that mark. Drive the tractor forward or backward till the mark goes around one time and lay another board there. Measure how far apart the 2 are and then you know about how long the chain will be that you need. Yes the chain will need to be a few inches longer but at least then your in the ball park

Perfect, I knew there would be someone with a simple answer, that's what I love about this place.

You also need to measure how wide they are- chains for a narrow tire will be narrower than that for a very wide one. They generally ride down 4-6 inches below the edge of the tire cleat.
