Scott in the posting Refinancing the Home,You stated that you just refinanced your home, and that the interest was tax deductable. How does that work. In 2009 i refinanced my home, would i still be able deduct the interest that i paid this year , or am i out of luck ?.. Thanks in advance, Doyle

You will get to deduct all of the interest you paid on your mortgage. In the next month or so both mortgage companies/banks will send you a statement.

Mortgage interest is deductible as an itemized deduction every year (Schedule A). But you have to figure out if your itemized deductions exceed the "standard deduction".

If none of this makes any sense, hire someone to do your taxes. Actually, its getting so complicated that you should probably hire somebody regardless.
