computer help needed

trying to up date my AVG FREE . get the message (update failed ) the part of the message i don't understand is (make sure the connection parameters are set properly .) i can connect to the innernet so what parameters could it be ? some kind of security ?

I got that same message every time I've donwloaded lately. I did three downloads and installs last week. Each gave me the same message, but all worked fine when done. Two were on Vista 32 bit systems and one on Windows 7 64 bit.

Every year I have the same problem here with AVG free but i have learn that because i am on dial up it does not download quick enough so it always come back with the same reason as yours , so I went to my second neigbour with my PC and got him to download the new 2011 AVG and everything work fine. He has the fast internet connection. jc
