See where Registry Patrol is not popular with a lot of users.
Just downloaded the free version which I was led to believe will recognise and fix problems but when I downloaded , I got bells and whistles about not having virus protection [it was there yesterday] and I think I was being steered to buy it. A list of what was wrong but not a hint of a fix.I then uninstalled it and miracle I have virus protection back.
Do they all work like that? didn"t see where I had to switch things off.

After getting a computer virus for the 3rd time, I asked our IT folks at work to recommend anti-virus, anti-spyware software. They recommended Malwarebytes and Avira. Both cost about $25.00.

I purchased both. They downloaded and installed easily. Avira has "realtime" protection which means it runs when you turn on the computer. It works, too. While out on the internet, I have gotten several messages that it "trapped" and destroyed a virus.

We haven"t had any problems since I purchased them.

P.S. The free versions are not as good as the one you buy. Well worth the $25.00. (in my computer illiterate opinion)

What happens is it see's like your virus protector as spyware or even a trojan virus. Just happen to me this last week. Was avised by my network tech of what took place. Had to clean it out to fix it.
