I got a Ford 340 industrial tractor with a bucket I was wondering how do I check the engine oil level?

I think the 340s were built from 76-83 or so.
Should be a dipstick on the port side of the engine just below the oil filter. (That's the Left side to you land lubbers)

You really, really need an operator's manual. It has answers to question you haven't even thought to ask.
You won't save any money by NOT purchasing the owner's manual.

Thanks for the help I found it. I just got the tractor and am planning to get the manuals but needed the tractor to move snow(I am just outside of chicago) and did not have time to wait for the manuals to arrive. The wires behind the instrument cluster were eaten by a mouse and shorted together so the loom needs to be repaired so I do not have any warning lights.I start it by jumping the starter solenoid.

Anything else I neet to check or be aware of?
It is a 1979 vintage by the serial number.
