I can't tell if those are sheep or goats. We use to run our sows out on pasture some 40 years ago. Every fall we would plow the pasture. Pa said it would get rid of any disease. I don't know. Seams like the baby pigs would always have scours anyway.

Hate to burst your bubble, but a county west of you, it"s still winter, and will be until sometime in April, especially with all of the snow that needs to melt and run off. BTDT for over 6 decades. Current winter is typical for what we had decades ago, even as recent as the late 80s and 90s. This century, winters have been more mild. Last 2-3 years, more like normal. Spring will come, and fields will be tilled and planted, just like decades ago.

The temp is currently 3 degrees. I really doubt that I cound force a plow in the ground if I wanted to. I can plow snow, but nothing dirt yet. Whats your temps tonight?

We used to live up by Lake Superior, so I understand the feeling. Here in southern Missouri, we are getting a little taste of real winter. Not much snow where we are, but -4F tonight. If you believe the weather guessers, we should have temperatures around 60 by the middle of next week. This winter has been a bit colder than what we have had for the past several years. Usually I can duck out and squeeze in some soil prep in the market gardens throughout February if I time it right. Not this year! I'd like to get the ridges set up for our sweet potatoes by early in March. I am always TOO busy when the sweet potatoes need to be planted and they often get planted late. Otherwise, we are getting vegetable plants started indoors under lights and waiting for better weather.

Here is Blue Boy ready to go to the field. I'd sure like to find a new home for this plow. I just don't have the acres to play with it anymore. I'm putting everything in alfalfa.

I know, just like to see some tillage pics to get me throught the next 2 months. Need something to get my mind off all the $3.40-$4.50 corn I had to deliver this past fall.

Heres one of my Long 900 and JD 18ft disk from last spring. It was a good day to try the disk on the Long for the first time and worked good as did the ground. Bandit

I know I've posted these before. First 2 are plowing with my 1962 930 Case w/M&W turbo pulling a 6 bottom Oliver round beam plow (4 bottom with 2 add-ons) The 3rd picture is my 4 bottom snap coupler plow behind my 1967 D-17 Allis Chalmers. Sure wish the picture of the tractor/plow would have turned out better though.
