Mitsubishi Mighty max truck problems

Well had the check engine light poor running problem checked by ASE Guy and came up with a bad Mass air flow sensor but when I installed a new one that did not help one bit and the same problem is/was still there. Took it back and got my $$ back. Any how the paper work with it said something about a relay do any of you have any idea where it might be and what it looks like an maybe even the numbers for it. It is a 1993 with the 4 cylinder and automatic transmission which by the way I hate the transmission that is.
Thanks

Look at the connector where it plugs onto the MAF sensor REAL good. They are noted for the pins pushing back through and the wire being broke right behind the connector. (under the rubber boot)

Ya right there is not one single car/truck made in the U.S.A. that doesn't have some parts made out side the U.S.A.. Plus I got this one used so why do you even say a thing since all it does if cause hate and discontent

You know I have been thinking about cutting off the exhaust right in front of the converter and seeing if it would run better that way. I had a new muffler installed on it right after I got it but forgot to rod the converter before I did that

(quoted from post at 06:54:14 02/25/11) Maybe that you should buy an American product, you could probably find someone local to maintain it for you.

First, read old's reply three posts up from yours.

Second, quit living in the 1950's. Finding someone local who can work on it disappeared when they started putting computers and government-mandated emissions controls on cars. American, Japanese, Yugoslavian, German, Korean... doesn't matter. Once you get past the glaring mechanical issues like ball joints and spark plugs, nobody local can really do more than guess at the problem. Most dealers aren't much better, and they're supposedly equipped and trained to work on them.

Heck, probably 10% of the parts in that Mitsubishi were manufactured here in the USA, and the trucks were assembled in the USA. 90%+ of so-called "American" brands' parts are manufactured overseas, and they're put together in Mexico...

Mass airflow sensor sits right out in the air stream, gets buildup and sends poor info to the engine computer, usually a cleaning with that MAF low residue spray will clean them up but those tiny wires can break

cleaned the one on my son's Taurus and made nice improvement is gas mileage

basic tuneup sometimes turns up the real problem

It is suppose to have a relay for the MAF sensor but so far not sure if it does and if it does where it is at. Thus truck run poorly no matter what you do. Sometimes when pulling it will sort of surge and then in turn that causes you to pretty much loose any speed you have and then it will not take throttle

Yep Mitsubishi engines are and have been used in Chrysler stuff for decades. Ford uses Mazda stuff in there cars and Chev used Toyota so how can one buy a true U.S.A. car or truck any more

Maybe you should get to the year 2011 no car is now a true U.S.A. built car or truck. Shoot if you pop the hood of all the cars in a Ford dealer you will find that a few have Mazda engines in them and the Dodge company is no better

You can't, but if you buy one with a U.S.A. name on it, at least most of the money will stay right here in the U.S.A. Don't you have a son who is in the Army? Do him and all the other soldiers a big favor and stop supporting those countries whose only intent is to take over control of the U.S.A.
