OT: Short Trip

Think some of ya'll know I been havin some physical difficulties.
Bothers the mind sometimes.
Wife convinced me to take a trip between Doc appointments.
Went out West, beautiful terrain, saw wild horses, but, dog-gone-it,
My left leg wouldn't let me get to the top of a ridge.
Always had to turn back, walkin the wild horse trails.
Might go back in a year or two, see if I can make it to the top of the ridge.

Never took a vacation before, can't justify the expense,
but it did my mind good.

Jumped right back into appointments when I got back,
but I got the memories of that ridge and the horses, and the folks I met along the way.
Guess there's decent folk everywhere.

What an experience, I'm a changed man.

Dan, it's very important to go places different from where you live. Gives you perspective. Afterwards, whether or not you want to change your life is another question. A very good one.

Great that you enjoyed your trip. Do it again.

Haven't taken a vacation in 8 plus years.Think it's about time.I love to travel and see other things and meet ordinary people and just chew the emotional bacon.The memories,as you said,last a lifetime.

Too bad about the leg. Did you look into renting a horse for a couple of hours?

We went to Yellowstone the fall before I had a hip replacement. Had a heck of a time walking but don't regret going a bit. It is not about what you cannot do it is about what you CAN do!
I would and will do it again!
Don't put off what you want to do, you may never get to do it!

Did you see the"Bookcliff Herd"(in western CO.)?Or did you go to Nevada to see thier's?I've heard wild horses are a beautiful sight.

It was in Nevada.
Got some pics, got 'em on a Walgreen's disc.
If I could figure out how to just get the pics on computer,
and not their whole program, I'd post a pic.
I got one really nice shot, out of the few I took.

Didn't rent a horse, can't ride anymore, hurts too much.
Crossed my mind about ropin' a wild one,
but wasn't sure how I'd get it back on the plane.

Last vacation was ~15 years ago when my current wife and I wed.
Never took one before that.
This was a true experience.

Bittersweet comin home, tho, got to admit.
But glad to be back
