can any one help me ? i got this 91 buick and the dash light wont work . The lights in the heater control and radio work with the dash dimmer switch but no dash lights. the green turn signal and the high beam ( blue) lights are on was thinkin the head light switch or maybe the dash light dimmer switch could be bad . dont know how the dash lights are grounded and all dont know where to start. Id hate to start buyin all the high dollar parts one by one to find the bad part what eles would ya'll do first???????????

My guess it's the headlight switch. Is it the kind that you turn the knob to dim your dash lights? If so there's a rheostat in it that is likely burnt out. You should be able to get one from a junker.

Sounds like his TS indicators are lighting up when there aren't supposed to and the dash backlights aren't lighting which would DEFINITELY indicate a missing ground. Could be a broken foil trace on the PC board or a problem where the wiring harness plugs into the gauge cluster.

Another sign of missing ground. Dome lights are always hot, ground for them is through the same switch that controls dash lights, & through the door switches.

the light switch is a (rocker type) and has a round roller? dimmer switch beside it I will try to change the switchs one ata a time then tear the dash apart to have a lookse maybe try to find a ground wire and or make up a ground fo iti and see. I do have a dig. volt meter so some thing is bettter than nothing . thought about just hookin up a small marker light for now till i can get things to work
