tire chain sizes

I have a Case 300B with the 3 point and loader. The back tires are 14.9-24"s. Since the price of premade chains is so ridiculously high, I want to make my own. What I cannot find in the specs is the total height of the tire. As the tractor is 35 miles from here, running back and forth is nuts. So I thought if someone out there could help me, why not try. I figure I will need 76" inside and outside to match the rim size and will need 15" for each tread crossover. What I need is the sidewall size for a new ag tire. Can anyone offer suggestions other than just measuring?

Check the classifieds on YT/put in a WANTED ad, even check Craigslist. Last week I saw an ad here in Colorado for a set of chains for 38's. Guy wanted $150.00 for the pair.

You are going to need more than 15in for the cross bars more like 20 as the cross bars need to go ever the side a bunch so they will stay on. Depending on your tread dsign will determine what type of cross bars as a straight bar will get between the bars on the tire if you have the new 23 deg type treads. What will be the purpose for using the chains just for snow removal they dont need to be to agressive. By the time you buy all the chain you would be better off with new complete.
