Continental Y-112 Main Bearing Advice Needed.

I'm working on a Continental Y-112. I'm a little unsure about what the main bearings should look like.

When I took it apart it had one flanged bearing half installed and the other five were unflanged halves.

I can see no way to fit thrust bearings in this engine. So I am pretty sure that it takes flanged bearing halves.

In fact it looks like all 6 halves could be flanged (there appears to be enough clearance).

How many flanged halves should this engine have installed?

Thanks,
JP.

The Y112 could have several types of thrust brg. Engines could have flanged upper half on # 1 position or straight shell brg with thrust washers on # 1 position.End play-thrust is adjusted with shims behind the timing gear on the crankshaft.

Thanks Earl.

I'll go ahead and order the bearing set with one flanged half. One of my dad's old friends, who used to turn wrenches for a living, took a look and said the same so it is unanimous.
