OT- 92 Suburban Has The Shakes

Perhaps someone has the answer to this one. I drive a 1992 Chevy Suburban with a 350 and throttle body and 4-speed auto trans. After the engine's warmed up, if I accelerate slowly, easy on the gas, the vehicle starts to shake. It feels as though it's starved for fuel, or some sensor is confused. It gets worse as the vehicle approaches the point of having to upshift. After I get out onto a highway, it feels like it's running fine. When I start the vehicle with a cold engine, it runs fine. It's after the engine warms up when the problems start. I keep it tuned up. What do I need to replace? Someone said the EGR valve, but I had a new one put on a few years ago. The oxygen sensor is almost new. This problem has baffled the mechanics that I normally use. It's been happening for a few years and getting worse.

Plug wires been replaced lately with a good quality set? I have seen plug wires cause similar issues. Drive real easy and they are ok. Make the engine work under a load without down shifting and they misfire like crazy.

Try locking out the overdrive and drive with just the three speeds. If that helps, then you have a transmission converter problem. Or you could have a catalitic converter plugging up.

I had a Suburban like that for a time. I had that same trouble. It turned out to be a cracked distributor cap. The dummy that put the new one on (me) tightened it down to tight and it developed a tiny crack (imposible to see) that leaked spark when it got to the higher gear. HTH...........HM

Disconnect the EGR and drive it. The CEL light may come on but if it runs ok you found the problem. If it is a vacuum controlled EGR valve the vacuum solinoid may be defective and allow too much vacuum at low throttle and that would open the valve too much too soon.

I recently had a 95 suburban doing the same thing.. I replaced the distributor cap, rotor and wires. It helped but didn't fix it. Come to find out it was the fuel pump in the gas tank. I took it to the local mechanic and he put a pressure gauge on.
