OT Prayer Request

Please pray for our son Casey and his family. He is in the Navy and has everything set up to re-up and go to school to be a recruiter. Has his orders, assigned to Des Moines, Ia, found a house that the owner is holding for them to rent, movers are coming tomorrow to start packing. Today he finds out they changed the rules in Feb and didn't tell anyone, so now he isn't qualified, may have to take all the tests over again. Please pray this works out for them to get re-enlisted with the sign up bonus and still gets to train for recruiter position, and get moved OK. I know this is kind of vague, I was on the phone with him for 45 minutes after I got off work while he told me all that was going on. Everything has went smooth up till now and he is really worried about what will happen. Thanks, Chris

It's not a prayer situation. It's a Bupers deal. Just follow their lead, jump through their hoops, and you will be OK.. Don
t panic. You are sending bad vibes to your son. It is his career, not yours.

I understand how you feel, and ALL situations are praying situations. We will remember him in our prayers and thank him for us too!

Chris, I have prayed that God will work this out if it fits into his plan and that you and your son will rest in the security of God's judgment as we are told in Romans 8:28.

Mine too Chris.
My Son-in-law is a Navy pilot and is going through a similar thing. All of a sudden, since the economy is going so good, the Navy is dropping the re-up bonus (that they planned on to make a balloon payment on their home that is coming due. No warning for anyone and not too many promotions being served up.
The Navy seems to do things in a knee jerk way these days!

I'll send a prayer his way. My brother is in the Army Reserves and was stationed out of Fort Des Moines, just after he re-newed his contract last year they moved the whole unit to Ft. Hood, Tx. So I can understand some of what your son is going through. My best friend is in the Navy Reserve at Fort Des Moines, perhaps we can be of some help if all goes well for your son and things workout for him. Shoot, maybe he could find a loophole and get me in the service.

Hope it works out. When external_link was elected I advised my sailor to get out. He was in the Med. just a year ago on a guided missile frigate. Had he not gotten out he may be right in the thick of things. His job was to board ships that needed searching.

Glad he is back home and in school to be a John Deere tech.

Best of wishes.

Gene

Hope everything works out OK but prayers would be put to a lot better use where they are really needed. Your boy can adjust fire and move on, it's the families of the ones that had hopes, dreams, young families, etc that came home in a bag that needs the prayers. Still wish him the best of luck and thank him for his service.

I'm pretty convinced that God has a plan for each of us...and perhaps His plan for your son is not what you--or he--think it is.

As always, I'll pray that God's will is done, and that He watch over and protect your son and his family.

As far as something not being a subject for prayer...I was taught to go to the Lord in all things, and to let Him know our concerns, our worries, and to give thanks in all things.
