There are Super M tractors, and then there are some that are SUPER M tractors.... If you've got one that's pretty much original, plan on 11' to 13' for the disk, and staying in 3rd gear. If you've got a tractor that's been juiced up with the IH Firecrater or M&W sleeve/piston kit and had the governor tweaked to let it run a little faster, a 13' disk is absolutely no challenge. We farmed for years with a pretty good SM that had the engine goodies and duals on the rear. It barely knew the 11' Kewanee disk was attached. 4th gear was simply too fast for the disk.
