I have a 49 H with a magneto that will not start after a rain. I had been keeping her in a shed and never had a problem. I moved her outside to make room to work on another tractor, and that is when the trouble started. It took me a while to figure it out but now I know. Somehow (I haven’t figured why or how) water is getting into the point compartment and shorting/corroding everything. Heavy dew is ok but when it rains she gets flooded. I have had to clean it out twice the first time was a total rebuild with new gaskets etc. For NOW I am keeping the mag covered with a plastic bag when I am not using it. This solution has worked well thru the last 3 storms. NOT a permanent solution but til I get more time it works. Good luck troubleshooting Ken B
