I've been plowing with an A set up with an IH 1A-60 blade, one set of weights on all wheels and deep cleat field tires. Last year I tried regular truck chains, and of course the cross links just fell in between the cleats and traction stunk. A neighbor gave me a set of skidder chains w/ 8" rings. Well -- I cobbed the rings on to the truck chains (they are about as wide as the tires and it is a lot like riding on steel wheels )and now the thing plows like a banshee, even uphill. Remember a little slip is a good thing, it prevents the breaking of expensive parts when you hit something hard.
