generator rebuild

The old chrysler generator on my h isn't working so i am interested in replacing it. I found a used generator for $65 that is in working condition. My friend offered to give me his generator off an M he got rid of a while back(if he can find it)but it needs new brushes. First, is this gonna fit on my H. And second what does it cost to have a generator rebuilt? Does anyone have any suggestions as to who does this? Or will it be cheaper to buy the used one. Thanks.
