Dewitt Co, IL built a new courthouse and jail in the 1980s for the judges and lawyers. The main money came from the power plant on Clinton Lake. The Clinton schools also dipped deeply into that pool of money. In recent years, the jail was boarding inmates from Champaign county. Now that is in reverse. Piatt county is boarding our inmates. Sounded like a winner to me. But our city manager(why we have one?) was the old chief and is taking over the job of the current police chief that has suddenly left. I don't live in town but maybe the city manager's last name is Trump? And as Paul Harvey used to say the rest of the story - - 5 more paragraphs.
