How do you know its 3 and 4 not firing. Have you had the plugs out and checked them? If you have valve problems you can stick your finger over the plug hold and turn the tractor over. It will push your finger away if it has compression and will create a vacuum when the piston goes down if a valve isn't open. If this eliminates the valves then its probably a plug problem. Did the tractor smoke when it was running OK. Today's gas can foul plugs and having a carb set too rich can also foul plugs and both will cause a black smoke when its running. I use hotter plugs in my tractors (D21 plugs) and it quit fouling them. If you have clean plugs and it has a weak spark its possible you need a new set of points and condenser. It is also possible to get a bad spark plug right out of the package too. You could also have moisture in your distributor cap or have a cracked one and have spark problems.
