The 1456 will use just as much fuel as an 1150. 1150's certainly wern't as frugal as the 1100 or 1130 for the amount of HP you get out of them. Some say 1150's are hard to get engine parts for, From personal experience I find that hard to believe. An 1150 will out work a 1456 any day of the week and you'll have less tranmission problems. 1150's are easier to service(no spilling hydraulic oil all over the operators platform). You also don't have to climb all over the tractor to fuel the 1150's saddle fuel tanks. Things like tilt/telescoping steering wheel and hydraulic seat are nice features. The 1150 also has greater hydraulic capacity, up to 22gpm. All the 1000 series Massey's had a hydraulic unloading valve, which made them super easy to start in the cold.
