I took that pto part off going into the transmission and took it apart to find that just a little small pin held the PTO on and off. What I did to break it was I shut it off too fast. That's the best thing I can tell you.

The trans oil level will not effect the operation of the ppto on a 450. It is an entirely different set up than the 806. does your pto stay on, or is it "drifting"? Have you hooked something to the pto to see if it is driving or drifting. As I was an IH mechanic for several years, I found that many of the complaints I had from customers who said the pto wouldn't shut off, turned out to be drift. This can be adjusted out. There is a brake in the unit that stops the drift. Rotary mowers wear on this brake if you stop the pto too fast.If it turns out to be drift, re-post and I will explain.
