We had a Case 960. It had a Chrysler Slant 6 engine, I'm guessing 225 cu. in. The combine was sure nice to drive, steered well and turned short, variable speed worked well. For the width of cylinder it did not have the capacity of some other makes. This I think was due to the relatively small diameter of the cylinder (which in our case was rub bar type). I understand that if you had a spike tooth cylinder, then you added capacity. This was not a choice for us as we were picking up wheat/barley/oats/canola swaths and even a small stone would do a pile of damage to stc. I was never satisfied with the way the feeder chain fed the cylinder. Ours burned in a shed fire, was replaced with 914 IH PT which was 2 to 3 times the machine as long as you had the hp to run it.
