Hi! What i did, was just put in a 12 volt battery,& coil then went down to the tractor store and bought a 12 to 6 volt reducer and put it between the 12 volt coil & distributer.. this is what keeps your points from burning up..As for the charging system . The easiest is to go down to your local wrecking yard, pick up an altenator that has the internal regulater built in, hope this helps get you going.... Randy..
