Any info on this tractor would be appreciated. What is this tractor worth in running condition?
Are there any problems getting parts? There does not seem to be many of these around here. I am in central Washington state. thanks

Dennis, I have a 424, which is the first in the series, second was the 444, then the 454. My 424 was not given any TLC, from appearences, I have had it for 1.5 years. its a 1966, I would say it was in running condition, but needed alot of cleaning, and some motor work. I paid 2800.00, My best friend bought a Extremely Clean 444 gas with a front loader for 7000.00. At first I thought he paid to much, but after using my 424 this winter for logging and snow removel, it would be -20, and the 424 would start right away. I only have a few acres which is heavily wooded. But I will never part with my 424. I am looking at restoring it and putting a front loader on it. With live hydralics, 3 pt, power steering, hi-lo trans and differential lock, what more could you want. All this in a very Red color, sure beats a green machine any day. BCB

We had a 1997 model 444. It was bought in 1986 to use on our 120 acres. Yes, it was the only tractor we had. We just sold ours for $2000 dollars. Just to list a few things that was wrong with itwhen we sold it was, the brakes were shot Previous owner did some welding, the piston rings were shot(check the fuel and fill with oil) over heating was another problem. Bottom line good tractor for what we put it through. Parts were easy to get from our local Case dealer.

Best of luck,

Sam in Missouri

Dennis:

I have one of these. Have had it since 1983. I'm not a IH man. This tractor has served me so well, I may convert to one. I'm in the deep south and get parts when I need them from the Case dealer. Tractor not used daily but sometimes used hard. I'd say mine(diesal) is a superb tractor. I wouldn't take less than $4000.00 for it and it needs some repair.

Are you talking about a 1983 Case 444 Garden Tractor?
I own a 444 Case but it has a gas 14 cast iron Kohler engine.
A friend told me if I could get it running I could have it!
Yes it is running!
