Retcol: The fast hitch on Super C was a factory option not a retrofit. It first came in 52 or 53, definitely not 54. I remember seeing a Super C in a dealer display at a fall fair with 5 implements, however I'm not certain whether it was 52 or 53. The implements were; 2 bottom plow, 7' sickle mower, 24 blade tandem disk, platform carries and a tool bar carrier for either planting units or cultivator shanks. The problem here is all Super C right back to 51 could be fitted with that hitch and many were. The day I saw it would have been late Sept., and since it was a factory option, fresh out, I lean towards 1952. My reasoning, there are just too many around to have come out in fall of 53, and only have 15 months until 200 came along. For that reason, I have to say 1952, but not positive. The question, just how many dealer add ons took place. For the 300 and 400 it was an option from day one in 1954. No SMTA were fitted with 400 fast hitches. The first fast hitch that would bolt up was the 450 fast hitch, and there were dealer add ons of those, on SMTA. The one point fast hitch for the offsets is a bit questionable. Most will agree it came first on the 100. There are folks around who claim they have Super A that came from factory with fast hitch. I suspect if there are, they will be Super A1 built in 1954, and there were only 1,957 of those ever built. The Super A1 was basically a 100 with SA sheet metal. Many Super A have had 100-130 fast hitches added. It's a direct bolt up with one exception, the lift assist spring. There is no provission on SA rockshaft arm for the spring.
