I saw Mikes wheels and tires on the H that he has. and, I have been thinking a lot about them. Somebody put a lot of work into that arrangement and I cannot immigine doing it unless I was trying to accomplish some good purpose. Does anyone have insight into why the fellow converted this wheel attachment as he did. Was there some farming need that he was addressing??

I was gonna say that I kinda liked them too. I understand Mike wants to make it like grandad's, I guess I would/do too, at least on my first one. But I like the look, I like the duals on an H too. I'm doing mine up pretty good, but am leaving a small ding in the top of the grill, just felt like it.

They shrinked this pic a lot, but top left center, big as anything. I took others out, but this one looked good where it was.

For anyone who hasn't seem them:

I was told the previous owner just used it to disc his field. His son sold it to me and wasn't sure why the midification had been made. It was also converted to 12 volt. I'm going to keep it 12 volt, but change the alt to a 12 volt gen and make it look stock.

I'd say he had a tractor with worm out tires, a machine shop, not much money and found a good deal on a set of tires that didn't fit. LOL

It's nice to know someone else appreciates them. If I owned that tractor, they would stay and so would the F-M magneto. I wonder what other owner modifications are on it.

I have also thought on it. I think the prior owner had access to combine tires and made adapters to capitalize on them. If a machine shop was available, a few hrs work would have made the pair of adapters. Thinking out loud, JimN
