I've just added another Farmall to the barn. It's a '74 key start 140 with Fasthitch. I also got a mdl 251 1pt 2row planter, a single botton 1pt plow, set of cultivators,etc...Here's the question: What's the shin part # for the plow, and does anyone stock theses still??? Its worn and needs a new one... Thanks, BobG in VA

Check with IH dealor they still have a lot of plow parts. If not CT farm and country stores carry them if they all have not closed the one we had closed 5 years ago and I liked it a lot better than TSC. Seems like they cater more to home owners and horse people.

CT Farm & Country, formerly Central Tractor, is part of Tractor Supply now. All the stores have been converted.

If that plow is new enough, it has a "Super Chief" bottom. Your Case IH dealer will have new iron in stock for it. A Super Chief bottom can be recognized by the one-piece point and share, as well as a separate shin and moldboard above. In other words, a three-piece bottom, with one piece going all the way across the bottom, the moldboard on the left and the shin on the right as you look at the plow from the front.

The older Plow Chief share parts are not available anymore.

CT did carry plow chief parts when they were in business. I have plows with both kinds on them.

Its a SuperChief. I'll check with the CaseIH guy...thanks, By the way, I've also got a '57 230 that I've got a C20 2bottom fasthitch for that has the Plow Chief points. I found 2 new points on Ebay a while back for $15 each plus shipping. I scarfed them up as I've seen those points go for up to $80 each...BobG in VA
