Ok, I had to get help from the wife on the pic. Have the pump removed. The coupler came off from it easily. It's on the transmission side it won't come off. Need to replace that seal. Tried pipe wrench and hammer. Is there something here I'm missing?

Whew. Got it! Just like you said. It is rt hand thread. I wasn't sure. Put the pipe wrench back on and and hit it hard with the hammer. Suddenly it broke loose. It's easy when you know how it works. Thanks for the info!

I just went through this myself recently. I did mine the same way, but I learned later there is a better way. If you continue this way, make sure the tractor is in gear and the breaks are locked. I had a pipe wrench the size of yours and two men. I thought we were going to twist it off, but it finally broke loose. The threads are normal, right hand threads. The better way is to take a piece of bar stock, weld it to a big nut and use a big socket and big air wrench. I ruined the nut and they are hard to find - $68.00 at the dealership. I know one case where the owner just used a punch and a hammer and his came off easily.

I believe it is left hand thread.

Definately NOT left hand thread! To remove, rotate CCW (left rotation). As mentioned earlier, lock the brakes with transmission in reverse gear and keep turning.
