When you move the throttle to full speed on our IH "340" it does not stay in place and moves back to about 1/2 throttle. Is there some sort of a friction disc under the throttle lever? I checked out out Manual, but could not find anything as far as adjustments. I did pull the nut off the throttle lever, but now wonder how to get the lever off the bolt. It looks like its pressed on a spline type bolt. Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

File the notches square. If it has a washer on the handle, rotate it to a new wear spot. Under the dash there is a spring, It is probably weak. A hardware store spring that is tougher will fix it up swell. JimN

Mornin' GooseCreek,

I know I've had my dash apart and I thought that included the throttle lever but I just dont remember how it holds it's postition. I'll check my tractor tonight and my service manual unless someone else knows (or has their manual close).
