I'm rebuilding a 1935 F12 with small seeping crack along the left side water passage of the block. I would like to have this welded instead of using a sealer. I'm wondering if the heat from welding will destroy the seals in the sleeve's as this is a wet sleeve engine. The engine did not smoke and I had intended to put new rings in it while I have it torn down. Also is it possible to pull and put new seals in the existing sleeves as they seem to be in good shape with no appreciable wear or scouring.

Depending on the type of weld process used it might not cause problems. If a great welder makes skip/cool passes and knows what they are doing, and if it is more than an inch and a half away from the spigot area it will probably not be a problem. The Orings can be successfuly replaced on old sleeves. The cleaning of all surfaces and the depth of the grooves is important, as is the lubing of the spigot as it is inserted (with dawn detergent or similar)
It will be necessary to ridge ream the cylinders, and hone them for the new rings to seat. Best of luck with the repair. JimN
