W6 with ser# W BK 40174 with Super W6 hood emblem. Has water pump, no hydrualics. Ser# number indicates just a W6, why the Super decal. Never been painted. Need to know if it is one or the other.

Hal, your tractor looks great! Did you do the restoration job? It sure looks nice and I bet it runs nice too! Great pic. Andy.

It doesn't belomg to me. It's own by a man in OH
and I think his son did a lot of the work. I have pictures somewhere when they had it torn apart during the restoration. It sure looks nice. Hal

I sure wish I had some shot's of the way the hoses go around the res tank, and then out the back,
Along with the hyd lever on fender, and all the fitting's too,
I know not many of them made like this.
so that why I wanna do Mine stock,

Your tractor is a 1951 McCormick W6, and is too old to be a Super. Either someone took the serial number tag, or frame from a W6 and put them on a Super W6 (unlikely, but you never know. . .) , someone put the hood from a Super W6 on your W6, or it was repainted by the dealer when it was first purchased. In our area, W6's did not move very well at the dealers. Our W6 had been owned by someone previously, but was then traded into the dealer for a newer model. When it wouldn't sell, they painted it red and white to match the other 460s and 560s on the lot. It is possible that yours stood on the lot long enough to fade out the original decals, so the dealer replaced them with the newer style Super decals as well. It is impossible to say what really happened, but it certainly wasn't that way from the factory.

I think it's a 1951 W6. It should have the 248cid engine. The SuperW6 had the 264cid engine,
the cid may be stamped on the engine. Hal
