I'd like to flush and clean my radiator this spring. What chemicals or products are the best to do this job? I have owned this tractor for 5 years and have not cleaned the ole radiator yet.

I use distilled water to mix with my antifreeze, not tap water. If you buy the premixed antifreeze then igore this. If your going to flush the radiator I'd flush the block with a gardenhose as best I could also. Dave.

Well as the other said if its not broke don't fix it. But if you still think you need to do it what I do is use vinagar. Drain it then fill with vinagar and run it till good and warm. Let cool some drain that and then flush out with water. Then just refill with a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water

jmdelong: I'm kind of with Dave, If it ain't broke don't fix it. Like you I've had my SA since 1972, and I haven't bothered to flush the rad.

If this is first flush, you might flush some holes in it. I would probably drain and replace antifreeze with 50-50 and leave it alone. Unless it runs hot or is super thick or rusty, probably not hurting anything anyway.
